"Mountain Stream”
Leica Q 30 secs at f 1.4 ISO 100
This was taken last March on the Isle of Skye when I was there on a 5 day course with 5 other photographers.
On the evening we arrived I slipped, my SL fell off my tripod and ceased to work, so a very kind fellow participant (Mike) lent me his Leica Q - which performed really well for the rest of the week.
My insurance company “Eversure” were brilliant, as were Leica and I got my SL back 2 months later - as new.

OH! - is that ME?

San Telmo Art (Buenos Aires) - you might not get away with this shot in Europe thanks to GDPA
Dennis S
Perspective sur un Pont Français - good perspective but a pity the distant figures aren't a little larger in the frame.
Elaine J
Kiting on the beach - lots to like in this image, although your kite is a little lost in the landscape.
Keith W
Enjoying Spring sunshine - I would enjoy being there too. A touch of perspective adjustment might complete the picture.
Malcolm R
The Vikings - No doubting their team name. The image is very flat Malcolm.
Michael B - mine
Michael E
Shooter shot - I really like the engagement with your subject even if she is using a Canon.
Mike H
Mountain Stream - Good composition and overall sharpness although the milkiness of the water is a bit too much for my personal taste.
Mike L
OH! - is that ME? - well spotted and captured. Another no, no for the future?

Phil C
Paul Butcher’s Jedi Mk6 - nicely captured motorsport image.
Richard B
Looking Back - I'm not sure about this one Richard. There isn't too much to hold my interest.

Theodore D
Levitating Terrier on the beach - nice action, if a little small in the frame.
Tom L
Snake River - love it.
William F
Autumn Woods - beautiful autumnal colours in this landscape.

4) David F. An unusual subject that lends itself to vibrant colours. Reminiscent of a scene from a child’s story book.
5) David J. No photo.
6) David K. No photo.
7) Dennis A. Nicely composed. The position of the pedestrian is important. Your timing is excellent in ensuring you’ve captured her full stride, with her head superimposed against the blue background. Her face could be sharper. I would prefer sharpness two motion blur in this image.
8) Dennis S. I like the symmetry. The natural light falling on the deck adds contrast and emphasises the leading lines. The selective focus works well to my eye.
9) Elaine J. The kite is the subject. I find the orange and green colours to be a little too vibrant, appearing unrealistic. The horizon is not level and could easily be corrected.
10) Keith W. A busy, colourful urban scene. I find my eye wanders and I’m left wondering where is the main subject. A moment later and perhaps the waiter would have turned to face you, which may have added interest.
11) Malcolm R. A documentary shot taken at a charity event showing the participants having fun.. Monochrome lends itself well to my mind. Group shots involving sports’ or casual wear can sometimes produce a riot of colour that is difficult to manage into a pleasing image.
12) Michael B. Very well exposed. The crisp detail in the stonework provides plenty of interest.
13) Michael E. An engaging shot, with a chance moment caught very successfully. The composition and colour works well.
14) Mike H. I’m not a landscape photographer, but this really appeals to me. So attractive. I love the colours and the implied movement in the silky water. The longer exposure is important here.
15) Mike L. The “moment” is captured well here. Very much of our age. Selection of a wide aperture has ensured the background does not become a visual distraction.
16) Nitin C. No photo.
17) Phil C. An unusual shot that describes a different side of motor racing, yet reinforces the understanding that it’s always a team effort. I like the strong colours.
18) Richard B. My photo.
19) Shaun D. No photo.
20) Theodore D. A true action shot. Dogs are always difficult subjects requiring a fast reaction. I wonder if you took several shots consecutively, or whether you struck lucky with a single shot.
21) Tom L. Very evocative. Great use of monochrome. Your exquisite image draws me in and I’m left wanting to know more.
22) William F. Painterly. Composition is spot on. Wonderful light and colour.

4. David F. Great fun, the characters are more colourful than the flowers. Framed to avoid unnecessary clutter around the edges.
5. Dave J. No image.
6. David K. No image.
7. Dennis A. The shutter forms a perfect stage waiting for something to happen and the girl with her black T-shirt is just right. Simple but very effective.
8. Dennis S. Neat symmetry here but the 35mm has created a vast expanse of empty foreground and made the figures under the arch insignificant.
9. Elaine J. A good zig-zag line through the fields. The kite is certainly eye-catching. Horizon is in need of an adjustment.
10. Keith W. Red jackets and red sunshades predominate here but it is the woman in the dark glasses that catches my eye.
11. Me.
12. Michael B. A fascinating selection (could almost say jumble) of curves with a touch of an Escher drawing about them with all the different planes merging together. The monochrome treatment suits it well.
13. Michael E. Portrait of a weight lifter. Great expression, pity about the lens hood.
14. Mike H. Oddly enough I dropped my SL onto a boulder on Skye about 10 years ago - it bounced and no harm was done (fortunately there was no lens attached at the time). The low viewpoint here means that we cannot see where the stream is coming from and it appears to be just erupting up out of the ground like a mist.
15. Mike L. Nicely captured (not sure who by though). An amusing shot.
16. Nitin C. No image.
17. Phil C. Nice study of an embarrassing moment, the old codgers come to the rescue.
18. Richard B. This is very tightly framed, I would have liked to see the whole of the carved window opening. The colours of the granite(?) and lichens are a marked contrast with the sinister black hole of the interior and the barred aperture.
19. Shaun D. No image.
20. Theodore D. Shades of Erwitt here, you chose exactly the right 1/1000th second to press the button. Although the dog is casting a shadow (and therefore we can assume the sun was shining) the image does seem a little flat and would I suggest benefit from some manipulation of the levels/brightness.
21. Tom L. The trees have grown and the river has changed its course slightly since Mr Adam’s day but it is still a great view
22. William F. Nice light on the nearest leaves at the top of the frame offset by the shadier areas below. The patches of sunlight on the bridge do tend to draw the eye but you have managed to avoid too much sky area.
Apologies for the late reply, but I thought better late than never!

Brings a smile right away. The light fall seems harsh, so that all the greens appear to be less varied and rich as they could be?

7. Dennis A.
Great shot, taken at the right moment. Nice contrasts. It does however feel cropped.
8. Dennis S.
Beautiful use of the qualities of this lens, but the people are too far away. For me it needed some ‘foot zoom’.
9. Elaine J.
Restful rural scene, however the colors all feel off to me, not quite right somehow.
10. Keith W.
Actually the woman and the waiter at the center epitomize the ‘sunshine’ character the most, yet they are a bit too inconsequential in the setting you have chosen.
11.
A fearful lot these Vikings; they don’t seem charmed by being photographed! The cut-off horn on the left and the man hidden behind the lady make the composition look a tad jumbled.
12. Michael B.
I always like these kinds of ‘deconstructionist’ architectural shots. Lovely variations in dark and light on the rhythmic columns and arches.
13. Michael E.
Great expression on the lady’s face; she must be very strong and have wrists like steel!
14. Mike H.
Beautiful and expressive capture, very well done.
15. Mike L.
A moment of reality in the digital world. Pictures of people taking pictures of each other. Maybe this is the Matrix and we don’t know it (yet).

17. Phil C.
A moment the driver would prefer to forget I am sure! I feel that if it were taken from a much lower angle (crouching?) it might have had more impact?
18. Richard B.
I understand the cross in the center of course, but I feel the thickness and depth of the stone has been minimalized, taken directly from a mainly ‘straight on’ perspective.

Me.
21. Tom L.
A dramatic shot with fantastic lighting, finely composed. The clouds in the back are magnificent. Personally, I do feel there is a tad too much foreground that distracts me a bit.
22. William F.
An evocative shot that makes me smell and feel the fall immediately, with its beautiful dapples of sunlight. Lovely!
