  1. 2. Mr Blobby
A shot many would have passed without noticing.
A very good capture of an amusing scene, tricky exposure that has been nailed. Liking this one.

    3. Altered with Frame
Not too sure the pills are taking effect in this one. Its one of those like or loath effects, the fish eye aspect is effective, but I am not sure that the frame does anything to enhance.

    4.Footplate.
A nice capture, exposure/processing has been very well executed to keep separation between the cap and the roof of the cab, great range of tonal values across the image, could have been so easy to have blown highlights and blocked shadows. Very nicely seen and taken.

    5. A very well seen balance of geometric patterns. Its hard to tell from an image has been uploaded at such a small size, but it looks like the exposure has been nailed in this one to keep detail against the sky. A very nice shot.

  2. 1. Life on the Ocean Wave.
A great sky here, the wide angle lens giving emphasis to the V formation of the cloud pattern. Not the weather for a dramatic action pic of the yachting scene perhaps but you must have been very close to fill the frame as you have with a 15mm lens.

    2. Goodbye Cruel World.
A strange mix of end of the pier machinery and signage, the dark background making the already gaudy colours really stand out. Given the interpretation that the title implies Mr Blobby is looking remarkably happy.

    3. Framed.
A very striking, cleverly designed and intriguing image. I like the simplicity of the neutral grey background. How was it done and, assuming that the central portion is a spherical mirror, why isn't it a self portrait?

    5.City Lines.
First my apologies to Bill for chopping the bottom off his image. He and I both managed to download our pics to the wrong picassa file - and I clearly fluffed it in my attempt to move his to the correct file. So my comments are based on the emailed image Bill has sent us. The angle of view has created an almost abstract pattern of shapes, lines and muted colours that cleverly turns some not very inspiring architecture into a much more interesting image.

  3. Update on image 5
Now the full sized image has been uploaded It can be better appreciated:
A very well seen balance of geometric patterns. The exposure has been nailed in this one to keep detail against the sky. A very nice shot though I would have liked to see a little more contrast adjustment in post processing, would have helped the image 'pop.

Super sky and a nice punchy image. You must have been close with the 15mm, they can be very deceptive. It is a pity that the top of the boat is not separated from the distant shoreline. Not the easiest place to find the ideal shooting position. A pleasant image. I'm sure the crew in the boat would like it.

    02. Mr Blobby
Well seen, it does make an amusing picture and the title is appropriate. For me a crop off the top and RHS would help as I find the background distracting. I don't think it is needed to show Mr B in context. The colours help make it.

    03 Framed
Fisheye adapter or photoshop for the main image? I find that pleasant enough on its own. I envy you your ability to put such a complex background together but I'm not sure it adds anything to this image.

    04 Footplate
Sharp with a nice range of tones, I have found that engine crew can easily be lost in deep shadow but there is plenty of detail here. Griping I would perhaps like to see a little more of the engine itself but that is not always easy if there is a scrum on the platform as soon as the engine has stopped.

  5. 1 Life on the ocean waves
A black and white that grabs the attention with lovely tones and good detail. The 15mm works really well here, though in a subtle way, not something you usually associate with such a wide angle.

    3 Framed
I like the use of the fisheye, again it’s suited to the picture and draws the eye into and around the frame. The use of the additional frame is an interesting idea and works to some extent, though I think I would have tried a different background colour as the grey seems to deflate the shot rather than lift it.

    4 On the Footplate
A well taken shot of the crewman and as has been said, really good tones and printed well. I agree that I’d like to see more of the train, but maybe that is just me. It’s a smashing picture of someone working on their passion.

    5 City Lines
Great angles and good use of the flat blue sky make this almost monochromatic and shows it always pays to look up.
