  1. To start the ball rolling:

    2. Like the symmetry and lines of this one, nice capture.

    3. Well spotted reflection, the irregularity of the glass making an interesting pattern, may have been tempted to crop on right to loose the edge.

    4. Now this I am liking a lot, using the pinhole has give a real sense of movement and provides that often missing ingredient - photographer input. Could so easily been taken with a 'normal' lens and lost the special feel and become just another beach shot. Really do like it.

    5. This image brings back memories and the palpitations I had at having to climb such a tower to take some shots for a client a few years back, half way up clunk and my lenshood tumbled down to the ground - I hung on for dear life! Very well controlled exposure to keep detail in ironwork and sky. perfect positioning for the view through to the top. Difficult subject to get right but this one spot on. Great capture.

  2. 1. A really punchy image, quality is great. The model does look a little strained however. I wonder if portrait format may have suited better?

2.A striking image because of the strong diagonals. It has an almost 3D effect helped by the use of the 21mm. It would not have been the same in colour.

3.This is my part of the world, it is an extensively photographed area and this is a variation that I have not seen before. Well seen and executed

    4. This is one of the most lively pinhole images I have seen . The bright light of the beach no doubt helping. I would be interested to know which film was used and whether the pin hole was home made or not. It really has worked well.

  3. 1. A well lit studio portrait in landscape format thet gives the model plenty of space. The glove/gauntlet looks like a piece of mediaeval armour - in stark contrast with the soft feathers of the dress.

3.One of those images that we can spend a long time on figuring out which planes are the actual buildings and which are reflections. The distorted reflection of the old building and the cloud fills an empty space nicely.Perhaps a slight swing to the left to remove the darker edge on the right?

    4. This is certainly different, more of a feeling of the beach than a true depiction. My understanding of pinhole photography is that it requires VERY long exposures so I am surprised that the chilldren have registered as sharply as they have.

    5. No name to this one but it is by Bill Salkeld. An unusual vertigo inducing angle to this shot. Presumably it is part of a pylon but because we cannot see the whole structure it leaves questions unanswered thereby holding the interest.

  5. 1. A lovely portrait. The soft lighting and tones work well and show off the outfit perfectly ensuring none of the details is lost in what could have been a mass of black. Good pose and framing too.

    2. Good use of lighting and a well seen picture. The division of the frame is works well and creates an illusion where once you have looked at it for a while you can’t be sure what is where.

    3. A well proportioned and framed shot. I like the grid pattern across the frame from the windows of the main glass tower block.

    5. Good use of black and white and the title works well too. Only the most determined will make it up that ladder. It reminds me to look up more often as there are lots of good pictures to be had up there.
